Did you know that today is the United Nations International Day of Older Persons? Today, we bring attention to this year’s theme, “Digital Equity for All Ages”, which affirms the need for access and meaningful participation in the digital world by older persons. More specifically, this day is meant to highlight and bring awareness around the importance of digital inclusion of older persons, while tackling stereotypes, prejudice and discrimination associated with digitalization, taking into account sociocultural norms and the right to autonomy.

As the worldwide life expectancy continues to grow, it’s important to acknowledge that a longer life brings with it opportunities, not only for older people and their families, but also for societies as a whole. Additional years provide the chance to pursue new activities such as further education, a new career or pursuing a long-neglected passion. Older people also contribute in many ways to their families and communities.

At TrypScore, we want to help aid in this mission by contributing to the enhancement of our communities through road safety. Whether as a pedestrian, passenger, or driver, we want the roads to be a safe place for all. Every age group needs to work together to make a difference in reducing vehicle collision numbers each year. As this year’s #UNIDOP2021 theme is focused on digital equity, our older, experienced drivers are an important segment of our TrypScore community, that utilize technology to improve their daily driving and earn rewards. TrypScore is proud to partner with these members as we work towards creating safer roads for future generations to come.
